The Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University (NYU) Steinhardt offers the professional MS and the post-professional MA, PhD, and DPS degree programs in occupational therapy. The Department educates students who want to become occupational therapists and graduates of approved OT programs who wish to earn post-professional master's or doctoral degrees in the field. The professional OT curriculum is based on the sciences of biology, sociology, and psychology as well as on the role of activities in improving, restoring, and sustaining human function. The post-professional OT education focuses on research and advanced clinical skills to prepare master clinicians, administrators, educators, researchers, and professional leaders.
